Water District Community Outreach

  • Conkling Hall 8 Methodist Hill Road Rensselaerville, NY, 12147 United States (map)

The Rensselaerville Water/Sewer Committee will offer a short presentation about the water district and proposed project and then attendees will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas about our path forward.

The hamlet of Rensselaerville’s water system was built in 1941; the last significant repairs were done in the early 1980s. Given the age of our infrastructure and increasingly stringent water quality standards being set by regulators, we must upgrade our filtration system and consider alternative water sources. Studies have been conducted on these same issues in the past and it is time to take action.

The water district committee and town board have started working with a local consulting firm, Sustainable Growth, to develop a project and identify grant funding. This will be a complex and long-term process and we want to make sure you, as the district user, are informed of the current situation and have an opportunity to offer feedback about the future of our water infrastructure.
